Crimpers & Ferrule Tools

Match the tool, die, connector, conductor, and inspection method.

A reliable crimp is a listed system: conductor, connector, preparation, die, tool, number/location of crimps, and inspection.

01

Match the system

  • Conductor material, size, class/stranding, and plating.
  • Connector listing and die/index code.
  • Tool cycle control and calibration requirements.
02

Workflow

  • Cut square, strip without nicking, clean/prepare as instructed, fully insert, crimp in specified sequence, and inspect markings.
03

Ferrules

  • Match ferrule length and cross-section to terminal and conductor; avoid double ferrules unless terminal/system permits.
04

Avoid

  • Generic dies selected by appearance.
  • Soldering strands before a pressure terminal unless specifically permitted.
